Kichler Lighting Recalls Ceiling Fans Sold Between January 2016 Through March 2020
KB Electric LLC wanted to alert our customers and/or potential customers about a recent ceiling fan recall.
On March 12, 2020, the Kichler Lighting company recalled over 42,000 ceiling fans sold nationwide at Lowe’s and their online store, as well as other specialty lighting stores in the U.S. and Canada. The recall is due to the fact that the iron arms that hold the blades on the ceiling fan can detach while the fan is in use, creating a potential injury hazard.
The product name of the ceiling fan is the Kichler 52-inch LED Indoor Ceiling Fan, Model 35153. The 52-inch ceiling fans have a Mediterranean Walnut finish, and a model number of 35153 inscribed on the top of the fan’s motor housing.
While there are no injuries, there have been 62 claims reported of fan blade detachment or breakage. Kichler advises those who have these fans to stop using them immediately, and to contact the company for a free replacement fan.
